Terms and conditions

Last updated 25 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and WORK180 Pty Ltd (ABN 44 604 198 478) — “we”, “us”, “our” — for your use of the Knack app at www.findyourknack.com.

Knack has two kinds of users: candidates, who are looking for an apprenticeship, traineeship or cadetship, and employers, who post roles and connect with candidates. Sections 2 to 11 are written for candidates. Section 12 sets out the extra terms that apply to employers, including payments. Everything else applies to everyone.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Two other documents sit alongside these terms and form part of your agreement with us:

Where these terms and the Privacy Policy say different things about personal information, the Privacy Policy wins.

2. Who can use Knack as a candidate

You must be 18 or older to create a Knack account. You confirm this when you sign up. You also need to be entitled to work in Australia, or to be looking for an apprenticeship, traineeship or cadetship that you will be entitled to start.

You need your own email address, and you may hold only one account.

3. Your account

Signing in is passwordless: we email you a one-time code. That means your email inbox is your account security. Keep it to yourself. If someone else can read your email, they can sign in as you. Tell us at support@findyourknack.com if you think someone has used your account.

Please keep your profile answers accurate and up to date. Employers rely on them, and your matches are only as good as what you tell us. Don’t pretend to be someone else, and don’t create an account for another person.

4. What Knack is — and what it isn’t

Knack helps you discover apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships, shows you an honest fit for each role, and introduces you to employers when you ask us to.

Knack is free for candidates. We do not charge candidates to browse roles, to be matched, or to express interest in a role.

Some things Knack is not, and you should know them upfront:

  • We are not your employer, and we are not the employer’s recruiter. Every hiring decision — who gets an interview, who gets an offer, on what pay and conditions — is made by the employer, not by us.
  • We can’t promise you a role, an interview, or a reply. Employers may not respond, and roles may be filled or withdrawn at any time.
  • We don’t verify employers, their roles, or their claims. Information about roles, employers, pay, qualifications and training comes from employers and other sources, and we pass it on in good faith. Check anything that matters to you directly with the employer before you accept anything.
  • We don’t give career, financial or legal advice. What you see in the app is information to help you decide for yourself.

5. Matching and your fit verdict

Your matches and the fit verdict on each role are produced automatically, from the answers you give us. How matching works explains exactly which signals are used and which are not.

The verdict is a guide to help you decide. It never accepts or rejects you. A low verdict doesn’t stop you expressing interest in a role, and a high one isn’t a promise of anything. Optional background information you choose to share — your age group, gender, or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status — never affects your verdict or your ability to apply to any role.

6. Connecting with employers

When you express interest in a role, we share the profile details needed for that connection with that employer. What is shared, and why, is set out in What we collect and why.

From that point the employer holds their own record of your application, and they use it under their own privacy policy. We can’t control or undo what an employer does with an application you chose to send them. If you later delete your profile, an employer you have connected with keeps their record of the application, but it is de-identified so it is no longer linked to you — Deleting your profile sets out exactly what stays and what goes.

Messages you exchange with an employer in the app are part of that connection, and are kept with it.

7. Using the app fairly

While you’re using Knack, please don’t:

  • give false information, impersonate anyone, or apply on someone else’s behalf;
  • harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against anyone, including in messages;
  • post anything unlawful, or anything you don’t have the right to share;
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload or get around the security of the app;
  • scrape, copy, or bulk-collect roles, employer information or anything else from the app, by automated means or otherwise, or use the app to build a competing service;
  • use the app for anything other than genuinely looking for work or, if you’re an employer, genuinely recruiting.

If you do any of this, we may suspend or close your account — see section 11.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you put into Knack: your profile answers, your photo, anything you write about yourself, and your messages.

You give us permission to store, display and use that content for the purpose of running the app — matching you to roles, showing you your fit, and passing on what is needed when you express interest in a role. That permission lasts as long as we hold the content, and it exists so we can operate the service for you. It doesn’t let us sell your personal information, and we don’t.

You’re telling us that you have the right to share whatever you upload, and that it’s true.

9. Our content

The Knack app — its name, design, text, code and the way matching works — belongs to us or to our licensors. You may use it to look for work or, if you’re an employer, to recruit for your own roles. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute it.

Employer names, logos and role descriptions belong to those employers.

10. Availability and changes

We’re building Knack, and it changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and the app may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We don’t promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors.

11. Suspending or closing accounts

You can leave at any time. Delete your profile from the bottom of your profile screen. Deletion happens straight away — there is no waiting period and no undo. What happens to your information is set out in Deleting your profile.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we reasonably believe your use is unlawful or puts other people at risk, or if we stop offering the service. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and explain why.

12. If you’re an employer

This section applies when you use Knack to recruit. The rest of these terms apply to you too.

Your account

You sign up with your work email. By creating an employer account you are telling us that you are authorised to act for your organisation and to accept these terms on its behalf. Your organisation is responsible for everything done through its account. Keep your company profile accurate. Candidates rely on it.

Your roles

Only post genuine roles that you intend to fill. Everything you publish must be accurate, including pay, conditions, location, training and qualifications. It must also be lawful, which includes workplace, anti-discrimination and apprenticeship and traineeship laws. You are responsible for the roles you post and for every hiring decision you make. Some details are locked once a role is live. We may remove or close a role that breaks these terms.

Candidate information

When a candidate expresses interest or applies, we share their details with you. Use them only to recruit for that role, and handle them in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and your own privacy policy. Don’t sell or pass them on, and don’t contact candidates for unrelated purposes. When a candidate withdraws, stop contacting them about that role. Your copy of an application is your responsibility.

Plans and payments

  • Basic is free.
  • A Job Ad is paid upfront for the number of weeks you book.
  • Plans (such as Always-on and Enterprise) are subscriptions billed in advance each billing period.

Before you pay, we show you the price, what’s included, the billing period and any minimum term. Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST unless we say otherwise. GST is added where it applies. By paying, you accept the terms shown at checkout.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and Stripe’s own terms apply to that processing. We don’t see or store your payment details. Invoices and payment methods are managed in your billing portal. For some plans we may arrange invoicing with you directly instead.

Minimum terms, renewal and cancellation

  • Plans have a minimum term, which is shown before you accept. You pay for the whole term.
  • Plans renew automatically for another term of the same length unless you cancel.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current term. You keep your plan and keep being billed until then. You can undo a cancellation before that date.
  • Upgrading starts a new minimum term, and we invoice the difference straight away.
  • Job Ad weeks you book are billed even if you close the ad early.

Except where the law requires otherwise, fees you have paid are not refundable.

If a payment fails

We and Stripe will retry a failed payment, and your plan stays active while we do. If the payment can’t be collected, we may close the roles that depend on that plan or suspend its paid features. Closing a role doesn’t take away the applications you already have. You keep access to the candidates who applied.

Closing your employer account

To close your employer account, contact us at support@findyourknack.com. Closing your account doesn’t end a minimum term you’ve already committed to.

13. Liability

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you have rights under that law, and this section does not take them away.

Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for the acts or omissions of employers, including hiring decisions, the accuracy of what they tell you, or how they treat your application;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of an opportunity, earnings or expected earnings;
  • where we are liable and the law allows us to limit that liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the service to you;
  • if you’re an employer, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change materially affects you, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Knack after that means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last updated.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.

Privacy complaints are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
