About

Mineral Resources is a mining company with more than 8,000 team members working across corporate offices and remote mine sites, including its long-life Onslow Iron project. Its people, drawn from all walks of life, are described as the bedrock of the company's success, and the eclectic range of work and life experience they bring helps create a culture of acceptance and a unified sense of ambition. The company's approach to diversity and inclusion is summed up in three words — everyone is welcome. MinRes describes itself as a family where care and respect are equal, always, and it expects total acceptance of people bringing their true selves to work. Individuality is encouraged, and the company maintains zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination. No matter their location or role, employees are meant to be respected and listened to. Alongside this, MinRes is committed to greater gender balance across its workforce, ensuring women at every seniority level have a positive experience and opportunities to progress; its Inspire Female Leadership Program runs for six months and brings together frontline female leaders from across operations to develop their pillars of success, personal brand, relationships and performance. Much of the employee experience is built into the environments MinRes puts its people in. Its state-of-the-art corporate headquarters is designed around health and wellbeing, targeting the highest certification under the globally recognised WELL Standard and holding the highest sustainability rating from the international Green Star system. On site there is a GP and Wellness Centre offering free everyday healthcare, an 800-square-metre gym with fitness classes and experienced trainers, and food options spanning a restaurant with Asian wok, western grill, pasta and salad bar alongside a café serving coffee, pastries and nourish bowls. The NextGen Creche provides short-term ad-hoc care for children aged eight weeks to twelve years, with a larger childcare facility for up to 130 children opening at a highly subsidised price for employees working at the Osborne Park locations. Mental health is treated as equal to physical health, supported by in-house psychology and counselling services for individuals and families plus mental health education. For those working fly-in fly-out, MinRes is rolling out resort-style accommodation villages across its long-life mines, beginning at Onslow Iron. These feature an Olympic-size swimming pool, fitness centre, café, recreation building and outdoor sports facilities, with apartment-like rooms of 45 square metres — three times the size of traditional FIFO accommodation — each with a queen bed, ensuite, laundry, kitchenette, lounge, big-screen television with video call function and a balcony. The intention is to set a new standard for FIFO life by encouraging women, supporting couples, promoting health and wellbeing, and creating a safe working environment and a thriving community.
