Trainee Signals Systems Officer · Melbourne, VIC · indoors_workshop
In this role you'd help maintain the computer systems that control Melbourne's train signals, working out of the Metrol control centre and its backup site. Day to day you'd monitor, service and repair faults on signal control equipment, and work with Operations staff to keep trains running. You'd also research and diagnose fault conditions and write up reports on what you find. On top of the daily work, you'd complete ongoing formal and informal training on the signalling equipment, sometimes at unusual hours, working toward stepping up to a Senior Signal Systems Officer role. To even start, you'd already need a Certificate IV in Rail Signalling and several years of hands-on experience.
