Are you a practical, self‑sufficient Operator who enjoys working independently across a wide and varied region? Join our Kalgoorlie team and play a vital role in maintaining water quality across a vast and critical network. You'll work outdoors every day, from digging trenches to restoring burst mains and supporting asset repairs across the Goldfields.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role blends Civil Operator duties with support for a Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson, including:

• Planning and contributing to daily job discussions and site inspections, with a zero‑harm mindset.

• Operating, maintaining, monitoring and repairing water and wastewater infrastructure using specialist tools, plant and equipment.

• Participating in an on‑call roster and being available for overtime when required.

• Completing chlorine cylinder changes at pump stations, including hazardous gas handling using breathing apparatus (full training of National Water Package Cert III provided).

• Assisting with fabrication and maintenance of Water Corporation assets, including bolting and unbolting pipe fittings, structures and components.

• Travelling throughout the region with a Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson, including regular onsite work along the Golden Pipeline, and helping manage safe work environments for the welder.

• Enjoys working in a small, supportive team while being comfortable working independently.

• Can quickly familiarise themselves with regional layouts, pump stations and pipeline networks.

• Is flexible and comfortable working both on-site and in workshop environments.

• Holds a valid WA “C” Class driver’s licence (HR licence desirable).

Key skills and experience

• WA “C” Class driver’s licence (minimum) — HR Class desirable.

• Experience in civil work and/or water supply systems.

• Certificate III in National Water Package (or willingness to undertake the traineeship).
