Calling all Tradies and Apprentices!
Are you a tradesperson, trade assistant, or field-based worker, based in Bathurst, looking to take the next step in your career? Whether your background is in telecommunications, electrical, construction, plumbing, civil works, general labouring or similar industries – including apprentices!
If this sounds like you, nbn would love to support you as you grow into a Customer Field Technician within our internal workforce. We value the skills you already have and will help you build the ones you need. In this hands-on, customer-focused role, you'll help connect homes and communities.
As a Customer Field Technician, you'll work independently across different nbn technologies, completing installations, repairs and maintenance, and supporting customers in their homes or businesses.
Your day might involve installing copper or fibre cabling, setting up customer equipment, identifying and fixing faults, and keeping customers supported and informed throughout the process.
Working hours are between 7am and 7pm, with flexibility based on business needs. You'll receive full training, all required tools and ongoing support.
Safety is a fundamental part of this role. Whether you're handling equipment, working in customers' premises or completing technical tasks, you'll be expected to consistently apply safe work practices and follow nbn's safety procedures.
Previous experience in telecommunications isn't needed – we'll teach you everything you need to know. What matters most is that you enjoy hands-on work, like solving problems and feel comfortable speaking with customers.
You might come from a trade, a hands-on technical job or a customer-focused trade role. Experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work or manufacturing is highly valued.
You'll do well if you enjoy working independently, managing your workload and taking pride in quality work. A strong commitment to safety, clear communication skills and a current, clean Driver's Licence are essential.
To be part of nbn is to be part of something bigger. Together, we help lift the digital capability of the nation by building and connecting Australia's best fibre infrastructure into homes and businesses, plus places and things, everywhere.
nbn is committed to an inclusive, flexible and supportive workplace and encourages applications from people of all ages, nationalities, abilities and cultures. We have a Reconciliation Action Plan and an Accessibility & Inclusion Plan, offer 18 weeks of paid parental leave, are a Pride in Diversity Platinum Employer, have active employee-led diversity pillars, and are recognised as a WORK180 Endorsed Employer for Women.
If you think this role might be for you, we want to hear from you. Please apply by following the links and send your resume only. We do not require a cover letter or any selection criteria to be addressed.
The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a Criminal History Check and a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment to assess their ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the position.
Please note, this is a permanent role. To be eligible for this role, you must have full working rights in Australia.
