About the Opportunity

The ASC Work Health, Safety & Environment Traineeship is a two-year fixed-term program that combines practical on-the-job training with formal study towards a Certificate 4 in Work Health, Safety & Environment.

Working alongside experienced WHSE professionals, you'll support safety compliance, hazard identification and risk management, incident reporting, and continuous improvement activities. By the end of the program, you'll have the skills, knowledge and nationally recognised qualification needed to start a career in WHSE.

Your responsibilities

• Support WHSE activities across corporate and operational areas, promoting safe work practices.

• Assist with WHSE compliance processes in line with company policies, legislative requirements and industry standards.

• Contribute to the identification, reporting and management of workplace hazards and risks.

• Maintain WHSE records, including safety inspections, audits and incident reports.

• Provide administrative support through documentation, reporting and data management.

• Complete a Certificate 4 in Work Health & Safety while gaining on-the-job experience.

About you

• Desire and interest to grow a career in WHSE.

• Commitment to obtain Certificate 4 in Work, Health, Safety & Environment, while receiving on the job training.

• Sound verbal and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required) and a good level of computer literacy.

• Good organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work.

• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Eligibility

• Not currently undertaking or completed, BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.

• Not in a current Contract of Training.

• White Card or willingness to obtain.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Baseline. Your eligibility depends on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
