We have added a new Apprenticeship to our business and are inviting motivated, reliable people to complete this 4-year program and start a career as an Apprentice: Mechanical Maintenance (Fitter). These roles are open to school leavers and anyone looking for a new career.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance (Fitting), you will maintain mechanical equipment and associated fixed plant infrastructure to maximise availability, sustainably and cost-effectively, for the process plant and associated infrastructure.

We provide classroom training so you can complete your nationally recognised qualification with confidence.

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will learn

• Competency and coursework requirements for MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting)

• Confined Space Entry Training

• Gain HRL EWP, forklift

• Working Safely at Heights Training

• Work with pumps and hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives and transmissions

• Use workshop machines, hand and power tools

• Arc welding and thermal cutting

• Measuring and technical drawing

• Workplace health and safety

• AGAA and site-specific training courses

The program will start ASAP on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster at Tropicana Gold Mine on a 4 year fixed-term contract.

After you complete the Apprenticeship, your career will progress to Technician: Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.

Eligibility

• Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

• An interest in technology, including wireless data and systems

• Must have an unrestricted (Manual) Licence or be working towards one

• Able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology

• Enthusiastic and motivated, with a willingness to learn the trade

• Solid written and verbal communication skills

• Underground Mining Industry experience is desirable

• Able to obtain a National Police Clearance

• Existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory)
