PERSOLKELLY|Programmed is a workforce and staffing business operating across trades, technical and professional roles, with a team representative of the communities in which it lives and works. Alongside its own hiring, the business works closely with customers on their diversity, inclusion and equality goals, extending its approach beyond its own workforce and into the organisations it serves. Diversity, inclusion and equality colour everything the company does. Gender balance is a particular focus. Women make up 51 per cent of the team excluding trades, and 31 per cent across the business overall, and the company works deliberately to bring women into leadership and into roles traditionally seen as masculine, on the view that the skills it takes to lead aren't gender specific and gender doesn't determine ability. It also supports women in STEM, tackling income inequality at its root by encouraging young girls and boys to study maths and science at school and teaching them that all jobs are gender neutral. For people building a life alongside their career, the company is happy to be flexible where a role allows, offering flexible start and finish times, working from off-site, or part-time hours to give people more time at home. Its parental leave policy provides primary carers with 12 weeks of paid leave following the birth or placement of a child, and everyone is encouraged to take it regardless of gender, because being a parent and primary carer isn't unique to mums. Leave is also available to support carers, and the business offers 10 days of paid domestic violence leave a year along with support from key people inside the business for anyone who needs it.
