For over a century, Ausgrid's people have overseen a complex network of electrical assets that connect communities and enhance customers' lives. The company is now on a mission to transform that network for a sustainable future, moving over the next decade beyond just distributing electricity to transmitting it, storing it, and enabling vehicles to be charged with it. More than a network, Ausgrid is driven by a purpose to make electricity accessible for all, with a vision of communities having the power in a resilient, affordable and sustainable future. That purpose responds to what customers want: affordable electricity, with the power to choose when and how they use it to manage their bills; reliable electricity, so they can live their lives with certainty that Ausgrid has their back; and renewable electricity to protect the planet now and into the future. The work spans a wide range of roles. Some Ausgrid and PLUS ES people are working with EnergyCo to finalise the Hunter/Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone. Others maintain assets so customers have electricity for their homes, deliver more EV chargers so drivers can access power for their cars, design a grid that is resilient for years to come, install smart meters so customers can adjust their energy consumption and save money on their bills, or restore power after a storm — whether on the frontline or in a role that supports the business. Ausgrid's values describe what matters to the company and define how its people behave and work together. Work safe, live safe means putting safety first in everything and doing their best to protect themselves, other people and the environment. Being customer-focused means knowing who their customers are and always considering and responding to their needs. Being collaborative means staying open to new ideas and diverse opinions and seeking others' perspectives in decision making. Being commercially minded means seeking performance excellence in everything they do, while being honest and accountable means taking responsibility for decisions and actions, and respect means treating others as they would like to be treated. Inclusion and diversity of teams are seen as fundamental to who Ausgrid is and how it grows, and teams are empowered to challenge the status quo and own decisions that directly impact the transformation of the network to be safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
